Optiplex 7010 SFF Dead Motherboard/Replacement ??
Using my 7010 yesterday and suddenly shut down on me. I have tried to diagnose the issue by removing additional cards/memory with no result. I have tested the power supply and it appears to be good. My motherboard has a small white sticker on it which I assume is the model number of the motherboard. It appears to read "OWR7PY" the "O" could be a "Q".
I have found other SFF boards with model number "GXM1W" that appear to be similar to mine, is this the proper replacement for my 7010 SFF?

Is it possible to install an intake fan in a Dell Inspiron 660 system?
I installed a graphics card (GTX 960) and the card gets to 80C and starts to throttle its clock speeds.
Currently, the case has got the stock exhaust fan + the PSU fan (which I had upgraded).
I would like to install an intake fan, to lower the temperature of my GPU and hard disk.
As such, I would like to ask the community here, is that possible?
If so, how do I go about doing it?

Noisy exhaust fan in Dell Inspiron 660, can anything be done about it?
The PC is now 3.5 years old. I do remove dust every half a year or so, but otherwise I have not played around with the stock cooling system in my Dell Inspiron 660.
However, I recently installed a GTX 960, which makes the exhaust fan run at 2100RPM when I am gaming. This is rather loud. Even at idle, it runs at 1200RPM, which is also noticeable, especially on a quiet night.
My question is, how can I make this fan quieter?
Would it be possible to lubricate it in some manner? If so, what type of lubricant should I use?
What about upgrading the fan? What size is this exhaust fan? Would it be as simple as plugging in the new fan to the motherboard fan header? Will the motherboard then automatically dictate the speed of the new fan, as it currently does with the current exhaust fan?

Optiplex 7040 Mini Tower - Horrible new design. Not Impressed
I ordered the new Optiplex 7040 minitower and its a horrible design. I tried to open the case and they have a plastic tab that snapped off. the spring and slide assembly inside. You can't reach the expansion bays and the case design is horrible. It reminds me of the old style Acer PC's that ended up being throw aways. Sending this one back right away. Biggest flop I've seen in a new Optiplex!

Dell T5600 Processor Compatibility
Morning,
I am looking to replace my processor in my T5600. However, I am having a difficult time finding out what is compliant. Here is the info I know:
I currently have a Intel Xeon ES-2609 0 @ 2.4Ghz and a Dell 0Y56T3 Main Board.
I am only utilizing one slot of the two available, so would like to buy a pair. The socket set is FCLGA2011 for each.
I was looking possibly putting 2 of the ES-2906 V2 (Mfg # BX80635E52609V2)
However, not sure the differences between the V1 and V2. Does any know if this will work? Or what would be a good upgrade? \

dell optiplex 7010 ram upgrade problem

i just bought a refurbished dell optiplex 7010 with 8GB of ram but its to small for my neads with dula monitor setup. after a long fight to fix SSD support with second HDD i went and bought Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB kit and its strange Memtest is finishing whole test but internal test is finding some problems *(different errors with one or two ram installed) and Windows 10 is unstable ... what is the problem is there a list of supported memory types ? is this ram to fast for this PC i will try a slower 16GB kit form Goodram mabe it will work ..
my bios is A21 with loaded default setup .. big thx for help

Various Dell desktops USB problem
I am looking at a few Dell desktop PC's for a client of mine, who wants me to upgrade them from Windows XP to 7 and then to 10, and I use a KVM switch to switch from my own computer to his ones. However, today, for the first one I am doing, I had to plug in an external keyboard and mouse, as, despite USB Legacy Devices being enabled or turned on in the BIOS, my KVM keyboard and mouse aren't working! I went into the Device Manager to check for any driver updates on the USB devices and hubs, and there weren't any, and then Windows told me the USB device could not be recognised!
Ironically, I did look at the same desktop (Dimension e520) for him a few years ago, and the KVM was recognised perfectly.
Also, my Seagate External drive isn't being recognized either! Any clues?

Only boots into safe mode
I bought my dell xps 8900 about a month ago and the pc will only boot into safe mode. I do not know what to do, could anyone help?

First Day Freeze Ups
I just received my Dell XPS 8900 Special Edition Fully Stacked Today and the first thing that happen was a freeze at startup. I had to hard reset. Second time it started no problem. Then a few times it froze while using the internet explorer (Microsoft Edge). I was still able to move the mouse around but couldn't click anything and didn't have to hard reset only a simple tap to the power button powered it down. I unplugged the PC and accessories and did a power flush. I ran the diagnostics from the startup (F12) and it passed. Ran the test on the support-assist and everything came back clear.. So far I switched from Microsoft edge to Google Chrome. I haven't experienced another freeze yet, but for the first day of having the PC it worries me.

Dell Dimension B110
Hello Everyone,
First time posting a question in these forums, I recently received a Dell B110 from a coworker, which seems intact on the inside apart from the HDD coming loose from its original place. Unfortunetely my collegue did not have the original power cord. Would anyone be able to tell me what type of power cord I need to buy, although I have a general idea of which type it is, I rather be 100% sure and not risk damaging the computer (if it still works of course). My ultimate goal is to either rebuild as a new computer or upgrade certain of its components, I'm trying to achieve a Comptia A+ certification and figured this would be a good place to start.
Also, can anyone tell me if and how I'd be able to view its information on an LED TV since for now I'm trying to avoid buying a monitor.

Optiplex 9010 AIO CPU upgrade??
currently running on my OptIplex 9010 AIO is Intel® Pentium® Processor G645 which i believe is a duo core processor, i am thinking of upgrading to a i5 Quad core processor.
Question, i know the dell technical manual stipulates only 2 i5 processors , i5 3450S & i5 3550S.
Is there any other i5 processors that will fit my system?

Dell Precision T7500 Error code
Booted up one of our Dell Precision T7500 this morning and we get the following diagnostic light combination:
Solid amber power button and a green flashing 2 diagnostic light. 1, 3 and 4 are off.
This combination isn't in the tech manual and comes up pre bios... All fans spin but nothing else. The PSU is fine and removing all cards and memory from the board make no difference whatsoever.
Therefore wondering if anyone could shed some light on what the fault could be?

Inspiron 580 Desktop Keeps Restarting - No Post
I upgraded to windows 10 a few months ago, more like 9 months ago.. A month or two later when I turned on my desktop it went into a reboot mode. I don't know if this is related or if it's just a coincidence. I would get to the black screen with the Dell Logo with the F2/F12 options in the bottom right side as well as the blue bar at the bottom but it would not fill up. I did every test in the F2 and F12 options 2 times. I even opened up the desktop, unplugged and plugged the SSD and no difference. All tests pass (Memory, BIOS, Drive, memory, fan, etc.). I am trying to understand if this is a hardware failure or if there is something else going on. The fan and everything sounds smooth, no beeping so I really want to fix this iCore 5 machine as it looks to be in new condition. Please help with any additional suggestions.

I have an XPS 8500 and it came stock, but I just changed the memory from 8 to 24GB, I'm a photographer and a gamer sometimes. I was wondering if anybody knew of a good graphics card that would go well with my system?

moving a hard drive
Hello, I have a dell OptiPlex gx520 that has been refurbished. I recently upgraded it to windows 10, but I realized that my graphics card doesn't fit in my PCI slot. In other words, my graphics card has a PCI express 2.0 x16 and my pc has a old PCI slot. But, in my other pc, which does not have a hard drive, has a PCI express 2.0 slot. So, I would like to move my hard drive with my OS onto my Dell Dimension E520. The only problem is, I do not know how to do so without loosing my windows 10 license. I would love any feedback on moving the hard drive or finding a way to fit my graphics card.

I have a Dell stuidio xps 435t, and at random times the monitors will shut off yellow light will come on and start the 6 beep code, if I hit the power button it then starts up takes me to the windows screen and does a normal boot up, any ideas ? could it be my video card ? Thanks in advance
