Inspiron 530 - can it handle Windows 10?
I have an Inspiron 530 that I need to replace the hard drive for. It will be an auxiliary computer, not my main one. Since it had Windows Vista, before I buy a new hard drive and a copy of Windows 7 so I can upgrade to Windows 10, can it handle Windows 10? Below is the current configuration (except of course the hard drive that needs to be replaced). I intended to get a 1TB hard drive for the replacement.
What do you think?

Could someone help me with the organisation structure at Dell Support India? I am guessing there are going to be levels of customer support, starting with a base team then an escalation team, right? Who do you write to if you are not satisfied with the DELL customer care Team?

Inspiron 560 burning out webcams
Hi I have a 560 Inspiron
pentium dual core E5400@ 270GHz
8.0 GB of ram
64 Os x64 based processor
Windows 10
I seemed to have burned out 2 logitech webcams
1 B-525 and 2 c-270s The first 270 lasted a long time cuz it was outside of the 2 yr warranty
I bought another to replace, it lasted maybe a month. I kept messing around figuring it was
was me or the software or something. . .
So anyway I bought the B252 HD it worked great the picture was real clear and the audio
2 weeks later it died the microphone still got picked up a while. After a couple weeks with logitech's support they are sending me a new one. When I was trying to fix it by myself I was trying the latest drivers and stuff. The didn't even give me a link to one this time. He said win10 has all the necessary software.
My problem is if this PC is burning them out for some reason within the last few months I don't want to burn out the new one.
Is there anywhere you can suggest to look for something bad in this computer
that could be killing the video part of the camera? I tried all the old ones on different PCs and stuff they do not work there
I did run the system diagnosis with support assist 10 min check first, then the complete one and it did not find anything wrong

I recently purchase an upgrade hard drive for my dell 660s. After installing the Dell - hard drive - 2 TB - SATA. When I start the computer this on the screen

I have tried to change the boot sequence to boot from USB drive, but still each time the above is still on the screen,

Dell Optiplex 3040 MT - In BIOS there is No option to select 'ATA' for SATA Operation!!! (Unable to deploy Windows 2008 Server Image in AHCI Mode)
Dear Experts,
I am unable to find 'ATA' option in dell optiplex 3040mt. Hence could deploy Windows 2008 server image on it.
In dell 3020 i can deploy the image using ATA mode.
Please advise how to enable 'ATA' option in Optiplex 3040 and install windows 2008 server.

Optiplex 3040 - Windows 2008 server deployment issue (No Option to choose 'ATA' in BIOS)
In Optiplex 3040 - There is no option to choose 'ATA' mode from BIOS.
Due to this, i am unable to deploy windows 2008 server on optiplex 3040.
"Once i boot from USB and try to deploy the windows, the setup is asking for the "windows deploy share path".
Please advise how to enable 'ATA' SATA operation mode in optiplex 3040 BIOS and install windows 2008 server.

Dell optiplex 390 mobo
So I scrappedited a motherboard and cpu for my personal rig, but when I went to put the front panel power switch and lights I realized that the case I took the mobo out of only used a 5 pin wiring for the power switch, hddled, reset switch and pled, where as this case uses 8 pins for it.
In the top right of the mother board it has the 5 pin connector labeled pwrswi but on the lower right (where the front panel things would usually connect it is labeled ledhi. Any idea as to how I am supposed to connect them

Can't Reboot Past External "Locked" Hard Drive
Help - Please!!! My Desktop decided to install the Windows 10 updates to my Windows 7 environment -- oh the joys! Nothing but trouble ever since. I uninstalled 10 to take me back to 7.
Upon reboot all was fine for a day. Then, black screen with a cursor. What the heck? I checked all the things I was told to check, I ran all the diagnostics. I uninstalled, reinstalled, did a system restore back to before the update.
After spending 3+ hours letting my system go thru the recommended ePSA Preboot System Assessment (All Tests Passed) - Today I have a system that I can't get to boot up because it says I have:
Status: Oxc000000f
"The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible."
I'm not a computer geek. I can't get thru to anyone at Dell. I've been trying to resolve this for 4 days now.
The only thing I can think that is happening is that the computer is trying to boot from an external hard drive that is in a "locked/password protected" mode on my system. I have no idea how to bypass this. I've tried unhooking the drive and rebooting and then it just goes back to black screen with a cursor.
Can anyone help me? Please?

My Dell XPS 8500 has become a Pentium 1
Hi,
I was running windows 10 on my Dell XPS 8500 without any problem. I had the unit physically moved form one place to the other and it started running like a Pentium - 1 ( if you know what that was ). I tried to reset windows 10 and the result was still the same. I tried to do a clean install of windows 7 but still my system is extremely slow. Can anyone please help me. I have 2 SATA Hdds. I even tried formatting the partition in which I wanted to install windows 7 but my system has still not been able to finish the installation even after 1 hour, which use to take no more then 15 minutes.
Any advise or words of wisdom ?

Studio XPS 8100 to Windows 10, Easy Peezy
I just did a clean install of Windows 10 on my ancient but still fabulous Studio XPS 8100. It was no trouble at all and everything works great. Dell doesn't support Windows 10 on this computer, of course, but so what? Dell doesn't support Windows 8 on the 8100 either, and I had no problem installing that. 'Not supported' only means that you have to do the research and testing on your own.
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless you know how to make a backup of your hard drive - an image. That way if something goes wrong you can easily go back in time to the way things were.
I don't really like Windows 10 the way it is now, but I wanted to get my computer activated with Windows 10 before the July 28 (2016) deadline for free activation. After Windows 10 was installed and activated, I installed all required drivers, made a few basic configuration changes and then ran Windows Update.
Once all this was done I made an image (backup) of my Windows 10 installation, then I restored an image of my Windows 8.1 installation. Now I'm back at Windows 8.1 like nothing happened and I have a fully installed and activated image of Windows 10 that I can restore any time I'm ready for Windows 10.

Need help with Dell Alienware Aurora
My brother just gave his Alienware Aurora to my boyfriend and the computer won't turn on by the power button but it does turn on with the button in the back while my boyfriend is holding it but turns off immediately afterward. It worked just fine when my brother had it so no clue what the trouble could be now. Please help, thank you.

Dell Inspiron 660s and NVIDIA 620 Graphics Card
Based on the research and posts here, I installed the recommended NVidia GeForce GT 620 Low Profile graphics card into my system. However, my system will not release the onboard Intel display adapter. There is no place in the BIOS to disable the display adapter, and my BIOS does not recognize there is an adapter in the PCIe slot. I downloaded and installed the latest graphics driver for Windows 10. My system shows two display adapters (Intel and NVIDIA). I disabled the Intel device in Device Manager, rebooted, but my system still doesn't recognize the new card. I am using the DVI connector because of the low profile configuration.
Odd thing is, when I boot the system, just using the new card, it starts up fine, and then the monitor goes blank. it doesn't recognize a digital signal. I purchased this card (pretty cheap cost) in the hopes of upgrading my DirectX capabilities. My Intel driver will not go beyond 11.1, and I need at least 11.3.
Any ideas?
